You may have figured this out by now, but I have a serious love for Japanese fashion. Not the Harajuku style that Gwen Stefani has made so famous, but the more traditional geisha style. Museum exhibits of kimono will make me squee like a fangirl. I’ll sit happily for hours researching traditional geisha makeup. I have an entire folder dedicated to kimono in my SLinventory.

Today’s style from Orchid Dreams made my inner fangirl SO happy! Dusk Geisha Hair is an elegant sleek sculptural look that conjures up hours spent at the hairdresser’s.

The back of this style is magical. Three graceful arcs of hair fall gently in the back, a beautiful soft contrast to the sharp points of the geisha makeup on the neck.

I couldn’t resist adding the red lacquered comb to the style.

The Dusk style costs $300L for a 4-color multipack, $99L per color and there is no visible demo. The colors include: chestnut, ebony, flame, and sandy.

Today’s style is from Orchid Dreams.

The Chai style is an Geisha inspired updo that combines some traditional and modern elements for a truly elegant look. The ornamental flowers are scripted to color change so you can match any outfit. This hair gave me a great opportunity to wear the Yu skin and shape I picked up during Another Fundraiser.

The Chai style costs $300L for a 4-color multipack, $99L per color and there is no visible demo. The colors include: chestnut, ebony, flame, and sandy.

Orchid Dreams has many items needed for going Geisha. There are Geisha inspired hairstyles, kimonos, fans, shapes, and other accessories. When I got the hair, I went on a hunt for a Geisha skin. Pandora Jensen of PanJen made this amazing new geisha skin for me so keep an eye out for it.

The Gion style is a geisha style that is a tight bun with the hair pulled high up to the crown and held in place by a printed band across the back. The hair in front is smoothed back into the bun as well so that there are no visible ends to the style. All the hair is kept in place by bun giving the style a sophisticated look. There are a few kanzashi decorating the style with a shell comb that sits at the front and two ornamental sticks off to the side. This style comes without the kanzashi as well.

The Gion costs $150L and there are no visible demos. The only color is black.
