I have retextured ~Tea Lane~ Cuppi II with the blood textures from the Style 47 set(47_blood & 30_blood).
A few people have recently asked me about where they can purchase a variety of hair textures. TKo Hair Textures is worth a visit and with the demos you can really see the product.

Teagan’s overview:
Unlike Laynie, I have never used any texturing machine in my products for Second Life but with the 2009 Hair Fair Expo approaching I have taken up the slack and made hair. The time has come for me to face texturing my wigs for sale. As if guided by fate, HeZkeZl Slade contacted me about his new Hair Coloring Lab Box 1.03. Taking a big gulp to conquer my fear of scripted items, I read the manual and realized it wasn’t as complex as I thought. It took me less than 15 minutes total time from renaming my textures(144) to a newly textured wig. I came away with the confidence that I could use this product easily a second time and did to take the pictures for this blog.
Teagan’s Guide to using the Hair Coloring Lab Box 1.03:
(You can click on the pictures to make some of them.)
Part I: Setting Up the Base Wig
1. Do the texture renaming first so it is out of the way. The texture naming is straightforward with your main texture named 1_ColorName and all texture types after following the same sequence like alpha1 is 2_ColorName, alpha2 is 3_ColorName, and so on.

2. Rez your wig on the ground. Locate [HeZ] Dye Applicator and [HeZ] Dye scripts and place them into the root prim.

3. Click on the wig and you will be asked if your wish to distribute the dye script. Click Yes. (You will get an error message for this but it does not effect the product. It is just something screwy with SL.)

4. Rename the wig to Wig Name(inactive). Pick up the wig. Rez the wig again to the ground. (This fixes the script error problem.)

5. Edit the wig and go back to the contents area. You will see your scripts. Go to Tools menu and select Set all Scripts in Selection to Running. (This may take a few minutes depending on how many prims you have on your wig.)

6. Rename your wig according to how you wish all the wigs to be named. In my example I am using ~TL~ Cindi -(base name) for the wig name and the color is brightemerald(texture name) so the wig is renamed ~TL~ Cindi – brightemerald.

7. Set your desired perms on the wig.
8. Pick up the wig.
Part II: Let’s Get Texturing (Important: Make sure you have prim space for this part.)
1. Rez [HeZ] Hair Coloring Lab 1.03. Edit this and go to the contents tab.

2. Edit the notecard inside called .config and rename the top line to have your base name from Part I-6. My example is ~TL~ Cindi – . (Notice I have left a space after the dash. This is personal preference and you do not have to do that if you like naming your wigs a different way.) Be sure to Save.

3. Drop all of your hair textures into the contents tab.

4. Take your wig from Part I and drop it into the contents tab. In my case, I am taking ~TL~ Cindi – brightemerald and dropping it in the tab.
5. Close edit and click on the [HeZ] Hair Coloring Lab 1.03.
If you have done this correctly you will see:

If you have done this incorrectly you will see a message about what needs to be changed. The first time I had an extra space on my .config notecard and it gave me this message:
[HeZ] Hair Coloring Lab 1.03: Warming Up.
[HeZ] Hair Coloring Lab 1.03: Object name does not start with “~TL~ Cindi – “.
6. You will be given a blue menu with single color options or All. You have the choice to test out a single color for your first try before committing to the All of your textures. In my example I have clicked on darkashblonde. A nice, new wig in darkashblonde now appears.

7. Pick up your wig(s).
Note: The final wigs are named according to the .config notecard and the texture names. It deletes all Dye scripts from the wig but no others.
All in all, it was a fairly simple tool to use to texture wigs and I am grateful that Hez’s timing was perfect.
