For the 2010 Hair Fair I donated 12 inches of my hair to Wigs for Kids and for the 2008 Hair Fair, I donated 10 inches of my hair to Locks of Love along with Washu Zebrastripe.  While my hair is not long enough to donate again, I strongly encourage those who can to do so.

Wigs for Kids is a wonderful charity that provides wigs for children who have lost their hair due to medical conditions. While your donations to the 2011 Hair Fair go a long way to providing these wigs, Wigs for Kids also needs actual donations of hair to create each wig.

If you have long hair and are willing to make the cut for charity, here are some ways you can help children in need.

First thing you need to do is assess your own hair. There are 3 major charities that take hair donations so if you do not qualify to donate to Wigs for Kids you may be eligible to donate hair for Locks of Love or Pantene Beautiful Lengths.

There is a new page on our blog called Hair Shop Links. This took a while to compile. It is a list of either store blog or marketplace links. We found that maintaining a list of SLURLs was too difficult due to the ever changing nature of SL with stores moving, rebranding, etc. This will be an easier method to get the hair lover to the designer.
